Double Triumph for The Secret of Pin-Up Island: Bringing Home Two Awards from Boston to Romania

Between February 14th and 19th, lead actress and producer Rina Gri, writer and director Alecs Nastoiu, producer and production manager Ovidiu Radian Vasu embarked on an exciting journey in Boston, United States. The highlight of their visit was the film premiere at Somerville Theatre on the 17th, followed by a second screening at the prestigious Embassy Theater in Waltham on the 18th.

The film “The Secret of Pin-Up Island” not only captivated audiences but also acquired recognition with two prestigious awards. At the 49th edition of the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival, the film clinched the title for the Best Production Design. Adding to the accolades, the Embassy Theater granted the team of the film the Excellence Award – an annual honor recognizing outstanding contributions to the cinematic arts.

The Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival, renowned for celebrating innovation and imagination in filmmaking, recognized “The Secret of Pin-Up Island” for its outstanding achievement in production design. The film’s ability to transport audiences into a visually mesmerizing world is a credit to the dedication and talent of the entire production team.

The team behind the production design of the film includes a lineup of exceptional talents. With Lulu de Hillerin showcasing his skill as the Director of Photography, Corina Florescu creative touch as the Set Decorator, Agatha Vornicu flair as the Costume Designer, combined with the unique style of Make-Up and Hair created by Ivona Velicu and Larisa Man this crew has elevated the visual narrative to new heights. Supported by the experience of Bogdan Orcula as the Lead Animation Editor, and meticulous Color Correction by Bogdan Jugureanu, the dynamic 3D Animation by Tiganus Lucian, and the innovative CG artistry of Alexandra Vulpe, along with the VFX supervision by Alexandru Baltă and under the guidance of the director Alecs Nastoiu, their combined expertise has truly shaped the film’s outstanding production design.
